A drop door skip is an open skip with a hinged door at one end. Opening the door creates a lower-level loading point, making it easier to load by wheelbarrow or move awkward items into the container without lifting them over the full side height.

JS Burgess combines that access with a reinforced skip build designed around regular handling:

• Hinged end door for lower-level access
• Drop-forged Meiller lifting lugs, fully welded through the channel and supported by a 6 mm backing plate
• Internal corner gussets and external wrap-around corner plates for added rigidity and reinforcement
• 32 mm diameter tipping bars, supported by 6 mm plates at both ends
• UK manufacture, with high-volume production capability for larger or recurring fleet orders

Drop door skips are particularly useful where wheelbarrow loading, repeated manual loading or awkward items make a standard top-loading skip less practical.

Waste type and maximum loaded mass should always be appropriate for your operator, vehicle and disposal route.

How are JS Burgess drop door skips reinforced?

Our drop door skips incorporate drop-forged Meiller lifting lugs fully welded through the channel with a 6 mm backing plate, internal corner gussets, external wrap-around corner plates and 32 mm diameter tipping bars supported by 6 mm plates at both ends.
